Right to Information Act, 2005

  1. The Right to Information Act was enacted in 2005 with the objectives of making the ‘governance more transparent and accountable, to empower the citizens, to contain corruption, to enhance people’s participation in democratic process thereby Indian Democracy work for the people in a real sense, to keep the citizen better equipped for necessary vigil on the instruments of governance, to make the Government more accountable to the governed’ and the Act is a Master Key to Good Governance and sets out a practical regime of transparency in the working of the public authorities.
  2. An Indian National, who desires to obtain any Information under the Act, shall make a request in writing or through electronic means in Hindi and English or in the Official Language of the area for which no format is prescribed by the competent authority. The application can be made on a plain paper and the Information Seeker is not required to give reasons for seeking Information.
  3. Subject to provisions of above Act, the composition of Sainik School East Siang RTI Cell is as under:
