Hobby Clubs

Hobby is that in which the hand, the head, and the heart of a man go together.’ – John Ruskin

We at SSES believe that for the head and hand to go together, the heart should always love the job. Hobby classes offer exactly this- classes that excite and enlighten young minds. These hobbies not only channelize the interest and energies of a person in the positive direction but also help in the overall development of personality. We offer a wide range of hobbies to the young enthusiasts, paid and unpaid, conducted by experts in their respective fields. The school encourages continual participation of Risers, thereby enabling them to acquire substantial skill and knowledge in their chosen areas. This is an integral part of the curriculum and students look forward to hobby classes with great zeal and enthusiasm. Here is a sneak peek into what we do.

ADVENTURE CLUB

PAINTING CLUB

Sainik School East Siang believes that exposure in the visual and fine arts are equally important to build a fully groomed individual. Sainik School East Siang’s Kalakshetra is a vital space for the study and performance of various art forms. The beautiful structure are envisioned and designed with the style and proportion of Indian aesthetics. Through its open spaces, spreading light and breeze, Kalakshetra cultivates a spirit of reverence for learning and for the environment.

From mould and paint sets to stitch and sew kits, an array of activities provides Risers with opportunities to engage in arts and crafts. Risers here not only learn either art or craft but also learn to understand and appreciate art be it a painting, sculpture, cross stitch or a collage.

DANCE CLUB

Dance is the highest form of arts. With the movements in dance, the child gains physical fitness and retains control over the body. It’s also a mode of expression of inner feelings, helping to develop self-belief and self-confidence. At Sainik School East Siang, different dance styles are practised and perfected.

Research shows that learning the do-re-mi’s can help Risers excel in ways beyond the basic ABCs. Both Indian and Western musical exposure is provided here.

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

Photography, one of the most celebrated forms of art is something that allows Risers to form perspective. Risers learn to find views and angles that would make something look as pleasing as possible.

CHESS CLUB

The budding Vishwanathan Anands of our school throng the chess club. It is heartening to see Risers planning strategies and moves with great precision and care.

In Class VI to VIII, the kids are offered options like- glass painting, chess, karate, Khana Khazana, abacus, higher order thinking skills, western dance, carnatic music, yoga, malakhamba, aerobics and eco club.

HOTS CLUB

The ‘HOTS’ pursuers learn to solve different types of puzzles, quiz, etc. through worksheets and hand on activities.

SCIENCE CLUB

Young scientist’s club is yet another hobby where Risers get exposed to various activities. It is a small effort to arouse Riser’s curiosity, to explore their hidden talents and bring out the multi-faceted personality in them.
