Sainik School East Siang
RISERS COUNCIL
The Sainik School East Siang Risers Council, comprising of Risers from Class VIII , functions as an advisory body for all matters pertaining to Risers activities and is at the heart of Risers Life at Sainik School East Siang. They work in co-operation with all branches of academic faculty and administrative staff and formally represent the Risers body organizing and running all scholastic, cultural and sporting events conducted by the School. In this, they represent Risers opinions and issues at all levels and work towards the realization of the same.
They are consulted during the formulation of all Risers-related policies, provided with an opportunity at all times to express opinion regarding decisions taken by the school, allowed to function independently and flexibly as well as provided with the facilities requested for during the execution of Risers Council Functions
The very selection of the Risers Council body is a study of the democratic process and involves peers, teachers and heads.
The Risers Council works closely with the School Heads and chalks out the annual Events calendar, organizing different events throughout the year by taking into consideration academic deadlines; they also take the initiative to conceptualize and execute new events/competitions for Risers. In this, they act upon suggestions received directly from the Risers Body, coordinates with the school administration to provide logistical assistance in the conduct of official school events and keeps the respective Houses informed about all Inter-House activities.
Functions of the Risers Council
- To permanently represent Risers views and work towards the realization of the same.
- To advise the School in all Risers-related matters.
- To formally represent the Risers Body during all formal scholastic, cultural and sporting events conducted by the School.
- To exercise an executive and supervisory role alternatively in the conduct of the annual Inter House Championship.
- To maintain the Risers’ Ideas and Suggestions Box and to act upon the entries received.
- To execute other functions as expected by the Risers Body.
- To conceive and execute other functions for the enhancement of the Risers Body.
